Amtrak Provides
Because I missed my connecting train in the event of an emergency, here's what Amtrak provided for me: suite 1701 at the Homewood Suites 40 E Grand Chicago, 22$ cash for cab fare to the hotel and to the train station in the morning (I walked), and finally 35$ cash for food stuffs. The hotel (I found out upon arrival) serves a complimentary dinner complete with wine and champagne. They also serve breakfast (hot breakfast, which I slept through). Two TVs in the suite, both flat screens. Full bath. Full kitchen.
Needless to say, I made out like a bandit. Here's some photos of the hotel room, window washers, etc.
